Analog inputs often contain unwanted frequency components. All unwanted frequencies below half the sampling rate can be removed by digital filters.
FGEN can produce several filter types: lowpass, highpass, bandpass, bandstop, running average, Window vectors and Blackman, Hamming, and Hanning window vectors are available. FGEN also provides plots of filter response as dB vs. frequency and as amplitude vs. frequency.
Included with every Data Acquisition Processor is FGEN for Windows, a filter generation program. FGEN generates FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filter vectors for use with DAPL filtering commands. This version of FGEN is a Windows program that is easy to use and is fully compatible with all versions of DAPL.
