EMC Compliance Specifications | |
Data Acquisition Processors and the various accessories that Microstar Laboratories provides are components of a system, rather than a complete system. In order to comply with the requirements of the EMC Directive, the entire system must comply. In order to declare that Data Acquisition Processors comply with the directive, a system representing a typical configuration is assembled and tested. All a-Series Data Acquisition Processors are suitable for systems that comply with the Directive. Typically the end user or someone working for the end user assembles the complete system. In order for that system to meet the requirements of the Directive, certain precautions must be taken. The system may not comply with the requirements of the Directive if the system is not assembled properly. The primary requirement for a compliant system is thorough shielding of the components and cables, including the PC. Either the entire system or the components must be contained in electromagnetically shielded enclosures and all external cables must be shielded. Ribbon cables are not suitable for making connections outside of a shielded case. Only shielded cables are appropriate for use outside of a shielded enclosure. System components such as expansion and termination boards must be enclosed in shielded cases. Microstar Laboratories can help you with system configuration. Please call us or send e-mail if you need assistance in assembling a compliant system based on Data Acquisition Processors.
